Tony Garone has
been working on his Epic of Gilgamesh project for nearly two years. Gilgamesh
is one of the oldest recorded stories in the world, which tells the story of an
ancient King of Uruk, Gilgamesh. The epic takes place between the two rivers,
the Tigris and the Euphrates in what is modern day Iraq and Tony has created a
musical interpretation from the original texts.

Slipknot and System Of A Down will team up for what promises to be one of the
major American tours of the Autumn. Dubbed the 'Pledge Of Allegiance', this six-week
trek starts on October 1 in Las Vegas, and will be something of a festival with
two stages and other attractions.
Sugar Ray have landed the plumb role of performing in the live action film 'Scooby
Doo', based on the legendary cartoon of the same name. The band will shoot their
part shortly in Australia, and are to have an as-yet undisclosed song featured
on the soundtrack. We reckon they should have gone for Dog Eat Dog
No sooner do Skyclad say farewell to frontman and founder Martin Walkyier than
they will introduce his replacement, Kevin Ridley. Walkyier will make his final
appearance with the band at the Bloodstock Festival on May 28 at the Derby Assembly
Rooms. Nine days later, starting on June 6 in London at the Mean Fiddler, Ridley
will take over for a brief tour of the UK, Germany and Holland. The British dates
will be supporting Fish, while the other gigs will see the band headline.
Hawkwind will headline the first night of the Rock & Blues Festival, which
happens at Doningnton Park on June 22 and 23. Also appearing will be Wishbone
Ash and Eddie & The Hot Rods. More news on who will be appearing on the second
day shortly, although rumours point towards a Schenker Brothers / UFO / Uli Jon
Roth all star session.
The new live album "The Return", featuring The Hensley Lawton Band (Ken

around the globe. Terrapin Music is also offering it, so check it out the info

Some of the biggest names from the underground metal scene will appear at a benefit
concert in San Francisco during early July, to help raise funds for Testament
vocalist Chuck Billy, recently diagnosed as suffering from cancer. Exodus will
reform their 'Bonded By Blood' line-up for the occasion, while White Zombie drummer
John Tempesta will join his onetime colleagues in Legacy, the band who became
Testament. And performances from Machine Head and Skinlab plus reunions of Forbidden
and Death Angel are also on the cards.
Classic Florida death metallers Death will shortly release the first live album
of their lengthy career. It's called 'Live In L.A. (Death & Raw)', and was
recorded on the band's American tour of 1999. This will be available in CD, DVD
and video formats.

The Citizens For Peace & Respect, a church-affiliated group, have asked Marilyn
Manson to reconsider his appearance at Denver's Mile High Stadium on June 21,
as part of the Ozzfest tour. Manson had decided not to appear, because the venue
was so close to the Columbine massacre, for which the controversial singer was
partly blamed. But he's reversed that decision, much to the annoyance of the aforementioned
pressure group.
Former Motorhead guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke is planning to work on a solo album
very shortly. And he wants to get in a load of guests to help out. No names yet,
but don't be surprised if Lemmy and Pete Way are involved. http://www.fasteddieclarke.com
Former Alice In Chains bassist Mike Inez will not be joining Metallica. As James
Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett prepare
to record a new album with producer Bob Rock, word from the Metallicamp indicates
they've made no decision about who will play bass, but Inez looks to be out of
the picture.
AC/DC fans might want to check out limited edition vinyl versions of the 'Let
There Be Rock' and 'Highway To Hell' albums, which have just been made available.
Pressed on high quality vinyl, you may order copies at http://www.101cd.com/ogrp01.asp?artist=HAWKWIND&s=1151
The band have also just announced that they'll be filming their show in Prague
on June 12 for a future DVD release.
"I was seven years old when I lost my virginity and it was with a girl called
Margaret who was 12. A policeman caught me, picked me up and smacked my arse.
And for two weeks afterwards I was frightened she was going to have a baby out
of her bum." - David Coverdale recalls losing his virginity.
Pantera and Slayer are planning to team up to play dates in the UK and Europe
during the Autumn.
Legendary American rockers Boston are working on their fifth studio album. Guitarist
Tom Scholz, has been reunited with original vocalist Brad Delp for this record,
the band's first since 1994's 'Walk On'. Also working on the album are vocalist
Fran Cosmo,
guitarist Gary Pihl and drummer Curly Smith. However, given the length of time
it usually takes for Boston to finish off an album, don't expect any release until
about 2005 - their 30th anniversary! Still, fan can check out two new songs -
'Someone' and 'Turn It Off' - on the band's official website at www.boston.org.
Cult Chicago band Trouble are currently writing songs for a new album. And the
band are hoping to persuade former vocalist Eric Wagner back into the fold to
appear on the record. Now that would excite all fans of the proto-stoner heroes.
King Diamond is expected to start recording his latest solo album soon. Reports
suggest it will be called 'Abigail II: The Revenge', a follow-up to his 1987 concept
release 'Abigail'.
Guns N' Roses have postponed their UK tour, due for next month. This is because
guitarist Buckethead has been taken ill. The dates will be rescheduled for later
in the year
Black Sabbath will play a warm-up show prior to headlining the UK Ozzfest. This
will happen at Birmingham Academy on May 22, and all proceeds are to be donated
to the local homeless charity St. Basils. Tickets cost £25 and are available
from either the Academy box office, or the Wolverhampton Little Civic Hall. The
UK Ozzfest, of course, will take place at the Milton Keynes
National Bowl on May 26.
Members of the Scorpions and UFO have joined the bill for the Rock & Blues
Custom Bike Festival, which happens at Donington on June 22 and 23. And guitar
hero Uli Jon Roth has also committed himself to the festival, which will also
