And the assault continues with “Local Boy”, the brand new single
from hot London four piece The Rifles, whose punchy mod-punk influenced
rock is winning fans across the board from NME to Zane Lowe (who
debuted the record 6 weeks prior to release), XFM and beyond.
Having already scored with their two previous singles “Peace and
Quiet” (Zane Lowe’s ‘hottest record in the world’) and “When I’m
Alone” both on their own label Right Hook Recordings, the Ian Broudie
(The Coral, The Zutons, The Subways) produced “Local Boy” will undoubtedly
take them to the next level.
Following storming performances at Reading & Leeds, the band
have undertaken a full UK tour supporting The Subways throughout
late Sept and October. More headline dates are being added due to
demand.

The new DLP/CD from our band „Space Debris“ is
out now!
Liner Notes from Jerry Kranitz/Aural Innovations:
“…The gorgeous 2-LP gatefold set you hold in your hands is a textbook
example of the power and possibilities of heavy rocking cosmic Krautrock
when played by talented and devoted practitioners of the art. From
the soulful and passionately melodic jams of “Bolivia”, to the hard
and heavy spaced out Hammond and guitar explorations of “Capitalists
Nightmare”, to the epic “Kraut Lok”, which sweeps the listener through
an instrumental journey of soulful space jazz, acid rock, heavy
jamming progressive rock, cool grooves and pure mind massage. So
relax, put on the headphones, and climb aboard the Space Debris
mothership.

Chart topping Katie Melua announces UK tour
Following the release of her second number 1 album ‘Piece By Piece’,
British songstress Katie Melua announces a 16 date tour of Britain
and Ireland. Starting in Aberdeen on January 20th the comprehensive
tour includes venues across the country ending in Katie’s former
home town of Belfast on February 13th.
21 year old Katie first came into the spotlight with the release
of her debut album ‘Call Off The Search’ in 2003. The album took
more than two months to reach number 1, and subsequently sold 1.8
million copies in Britain, where Katie was the most successful female
artist in 2004, and sold more than 3 million copies worldwide. Released
on September 26 2005 ‘Piece By Piece’ went straight to the top spot
in Britain in its first week and has already reached platinum status.
The success story continues overseas where it is #1 in Holland and
Norway and top 5 in Ireland, Denmark, Germany and Iceland and #2
in the overall Billboard European chart.
This will be Katie’s third UK tour and she is keen to get back on
the road. Fans can look forward to live renditions of songs from
‘Piece By Piece’ including the Top 5 single ‘Nine Million Bicycles’,

from Call Off The Search such as The Closest Thing To Crazy and
Crawling Up A Hill.
In order to maintain the intimacy that Katie strives for, the show
will be presented in a theatre style setting in the arena venues.
“Although some of the venues are larger than on previous tours I
still want to ensure that there a feeling of closeness and a connection
with the audience, that is important to me as a performer and also
as a member of an audience. But mostly I’m really looking forward
to being out on the road again next year”

So..... the magnificent Mystery Jets have a huge
27 date tour during November and the start of December. If they're
bringing their eccentric brand of fresh prog rock to your town.
I'm sure you've all heard of them by now but if you haven't seen
them live where they unleash the full epic magnificence of tracks
like Zoo Time and Alas Agnes I would highly recomend heading down
to the venue nearest to you.
Their new single 'Alas Agnes' is released on December 5th and 'tells
the tale of unrequited love between a young protagonist and Agnes,
a stunning Transvestite sat in the back streets of Kings Cross.
In order to win Agnes’s heart he takes the drastic step of a sex
change only to return and find Agnes has already fallen for a younger
prettier muse'
Hmmm, I promise it does actually sounds a lot better than that...
