Hot (ish) on the heels of the ever so splendid singles 'King of Animals' and 'Staring at the Stone' (both included for Johnny come latelies), this is psychedelia for the noughties.

This is not a CD that comes leaping out of the speakers, rather one that insinuates itself ever so slowly under your skin, until you reach a point where its been on repeat play for several days without you even noticing. Ever the eclectics, fans of quietly droning guitars, whispered vocals and hypnotic beats will find much to clasp to their bosoms here.

OK, you may want to dish out the occasional slap, but its worth it when you hear the deceptive simplicity of "At This Point" and "Let It". Mellow, beautiful, melodic - this is Mercury Rev on downers. What more could you want?
