The Urban Hillbilly Quartet - Lanky But Macho
This album is a
collection of live tracks, home recordings and unreleased studio tracks,
which usually spells musical disaster or creative redundancy, but fortunately
thats far from the truth here.
The UHQs special
brand 'Hillbilly-Roots-Rock-Music' is a thing of beauty and passion
and this is just as commendable as their previously reviewed "Beautiful
Lazy". Following on from the aforementioned "BL", "Living
In The City" and "St Paul Town" this is well worth grabbing
a hold of.
There's simple folk
songs like "Big Pine," metalllic blues jams like "Coal
Miner" and even the 10 minute plus "Praetorius" stays
well away from turning into a folk prog monstrosity and is worth the
price of admission alone:-)
