SLOTERDIJK - Uranium Zone (advance CD)

Mikes back and certainly has you panicking with the opening "Variations In A Major for 2 Cellos & A Flute"! Not what you expect from an out and out spacerocker. Thanks be then for the title track coming along and putting things to rights.

SETI 79 is one of the highlights of the CD pounding along on a hypnotic riff. But the piece de resistance is "Unnamed Psychedelic Jam II", a storming psychedelic number that can hold its head up high.

When I reviewed "Integration", I hailed it as the first essential spacerock purchase of year 2000. Well Starfield has that accolade for 2001, but this is inspiring stuff. Psych, prog, even trance elements are integrated (ha!) into a sum greater than its parts.
