Parachute

PARACHUTE - Moving Still (Fortune & Glory)

Parachute managed to get to No 2 in our best of 1999 singles chart, but since then, silence:-( But thankfully 2001 has seen the arrival of this 5 track mini LP. And I am delighted to report that everything is firmly intact.

Plaintive, melancholy, heartfelt, a Moonbabies kind of thing. "Stripped Bone Naked" will tear you apart, "If You Want My Love (You Can Whistle For It)" will bring a wry smile to your lips, and hopefully make Travis realise that they can never be this good, so just pack it in, lads. "Wonderlust" is a surprise, leaping out in near aggressive manner, before "Natural Hyena" takes it back down a peg and turns into an absolute peach of a song. Gomez with talent, this is our favourite and will be appearing on C90s in peoples letterboxes soon. Finally, "Give Me Some Hope Now Baby" is a man, a guitar, a Boo Hewerdine turn of phrase and a plea.

Nuff said, you must buy this now.
