Demonicon - Condemned Creation (Root of all Evil)

It's been a long time coming, but finally, 2001 conjures up a classic metal album.

If it's powerful, grinding, bowel churning death metal you're after then Demonicon is the band for you. Formerly known as Dominion, they released a few demos and a CD before metamorphising into Demonicon. Without doubt, one of the heaviest bands around, as they lurch into "Severed Bloodline", you realise that you're in the presence of greatness.

Bordering on grindcore in places, the skewed riffs, rhythms and rage mess with your mind as they power through "Ascension", "Exile Ingrown" and "Enveloping Rage". Some of the music is incredibly complex, bordering on progressive, and there's even the odd moment of pastoral beauty thrown in, to make an underground classic that lives up to the Root of all Evil tag.
